Traveling to Maldives
Day 1:
- Arrive in Male
- Male Market
- Independence Square
- Fish Market
Take in the quaint capital city of Male with a trip to the bustling Male Market where you will see Maldivian culture at its purest. Check out Independence Square before heading due west to the fish market. Not for the faint-hearted, this fish market is a messy introduction to Maldivian seafood.
Day 2:
- Hotel transfer
- Scuba or snorkel
Head to your hotel of choice, be it a luxury water bungalow or traditional resort. Be sure to enjoy a drink on the pristine beaches before beginning a scuba diving course or going snorkeling to explore the Maldives' ocean treasures.
Day 3:
- Scuba
The water clarity and marine life in the Maldives is excellent because the coral reefs are hundreds of kilometers away from a major landmass. You can see sharks, rays, and even explore a ship wreck. If you're an experience diver, head out to the farther atolls to see the most variety.
Day 4:
- Beach
Lose yourself while watching the deep blue water kiss open stretches of white sand. The Maldives are known for having some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Pack a book and some sunscreen and spend the day relaxing in the sun.
